Why do we need bees?
Bees are called pollinators. Pollinators transfer pollen and seeds from one flower to another, fertilizing the plant so it can grow and produce food. Cross-pollination helps at least 30 percent of the world’s crops and 90 percent of our wild plants to thrive. Without bees to spread seeds, many plants—including food crops—would die off..
What type of plants do bees pollinate ?
Bees do more than make honey—they help produce some of our favorite foods:
Oranges, apples, lemons, and limes, broccoli, onions, blueberries, cherries, and cranberries. Cucumbers (and the pickles made from cucumbers) cantaloupes, carrots, avocados, and almonds.
Aren't bees dangerous ?
Most species defend their nest (bumblebees are an exception). Bees generally only use their stingers in defense. No need to fear being stung if you move slowly and non-aggressively. Only females are capable of stinging (males of all bee species lack this capacity). Many times, when working our hives, we don't wear gloves. Bee's are generally non aggresive and leave you alone. Africanized bees may respond aggressively to everyday occurrences such as vibrations generated by passing vehicles, power equipment, and even foot traffic. There is no way of knowing which hive is Africanized and which isn't without testing. All of our bees are used to being worked and handled. We pride ourselves in our calm bees !
Who are we ?
We started as small hobby beekeepers. As the word spread about our bees and our honey, we increased our colonies to meet the demand. We have grown in the last few years to a full service bee provider and honey producer.
We seek to grow as a Florida bee provider as well as produce more exotic and domestic honey. We have clients who specialize in exotic plants and we produce our exotic honey from these flowers. We can barter for honey and pollination services.
If you have over 5 acres of land in Broward or Palm Beach County and would like bees, we want to talk to you ! If you have a swarm that needs removal and don't want to kill bees, call us. We'll take them and put the bees to work !
We also will take swarms and use their gene pool to enhance our bee colonies for genetic diversity. We never kill bees !
We are members of the Florida State Beekeepers Association as well as the Palm Beach Beekeepers Association. We are Florida State certified beekeepers.
